The Wedge Project

The Wedge project is a historic copper-producing critical minerals asset, hosted within a volcanogenic massive sulphide system in New Brunswick’s Bathurst Mining Camp, one of the world’s most prolific sulphide-hosted metal districts. The deposit was discovered in the mid-1950s and subsequently developed and operated by Cominco, a leading Canadian base-metal producer whose early work helped establish Bathurst as a globally significant copper and zinc camp.

Between 1962 and 1968, the Wedge mine produced approximately 1.503 million tonnes of copper-rich ore, grading 2.88 percent copper, with additional lead, zinc and silver credits. Ore was transported to the nearby Heath Steele processing facilities, confirming the Wedge as a technically and economically viable copper operation within the camp. Notably, mining during this period was limited to the upper portions of the deposit, leaving significant parts of the mineralized system untested at depth and along strike.

A historical resource estimate of 545,200 tonnes remains on record, although it is considered historical in nature and non-compliant with current reporting standards. The Wedge deposit displays classic Bathurst-style sulphide architecture, including stacked lenses, copper-dominant mineralization, and strong hydrothermal alteration—features commonly associated with larger, long-life critical-minerals systems hosted within VMS environments.

Modern exploration by Nine Mile Metals has re-established the Wedge as a priority copper-focused critical minerals target through the application of contemporary geophysics, three-dimensional modelling, and systematic drilling. Drilling completed to date has confirmed the presence of copper-rich massive and semi-massive sulphide mineralization, with visible chalcopyrite and associated copper sulphides observed in core, supporting the interpretation that the Wedge system remains open for expansion beyond the historically mined zones.

Nine Mile Brook Project

Nine Mile Brook is a high-grade, copper-focused critical minerals discovery and a core asset within the Company’s portfolio, covering approximately 50.04 square kilometres across 229 claims in the eastern portion of New Brunswick’s Bathurst Mining Camp. Drilling has identified a high-grade polymetallic sulphide lens hosted within a volcanogenic massive sulphide system, with certified assays returning up to 10.12 percent copper, alongside zinc, lead, silver and gold credits over a 15.10-metre interval. These results rank among the highest-grade certified copper intersections reported in the camp and confirm the presence of a robust, metal-rich hydrothermal system.

Certified drill results of (10.12 % Cu, 1.00 % Zn, 1.41 % Pb, 91.47 G/T Ag, and 0.84 G/T Au) over 15.10m on their high-grade Nine Mile Brook VMS Project, Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick, July 11, 2022

The project is strategically located approximately 10 kilometres west of the Brunswick No. 12 Mine, one of the largest and most productive sulphide-hosted deposits globally. Nine Mile Brook lies within favourable stratigraphy of the Spruce Lake Formation and California Lake Group, geological units known to host significant copper-rich sulphide mineralization elsewhere in the district.

Nine Mile Metals has received regulatory approval for a 1,000-tonne bulk sample program at Nine Mile Brook, marking an important step beyond early-stage exploration. Supported by metallurgical testing and government-backed research initiatives, the bulk sample program is intended to evaluate concentrate quality, processing characteristics, and potential development pathways for copper and associated critical minerals.

California Lake Project

The California Lake project covers approximately 35.83 square kilometres across 164 claims within New Brunswick’s Bathurst Mining Camp and hosts multiple critical-mineral-bearing sulphide targets aligned along established geological and geophysical trends. Drilling at the California Lake East target has intersected sulphide mineralization consistent with a volcanogenic massive sulphide system, confirming the presence of a mineralized system at depth.

Completed and ongoing geophysical programs—including borehole electromagnetics, UAV magnetic surveys, and planned time-domain EM surveys—are being used to refine drill targeting and identify potential source zones for additional copper-rich sulphide lenses across the project area.

Canoe Landing Lake (East & West) Project

The Canoe Landing Lake East and West projects cover approximately 14.64 square kilometres across 67 claims and are located near the Canoe Landing Lake deposit, which hosts a 22.8-million-tonne historical geological reserve grading copper, zinc, lead, silver, and gold. Nine Mile Metals’ land position captures multiple mineral occurrences and prospective extensions from the known deposit, offering district-scale exploration potential for copper and associated critical minerals within a proven sulphide-hosted corridor.
