Illinois Senate Head to Revive Tenaska Coal Gasification Plant Bill
Platts reported that legislation concerning Tenaska’s coal gasification project may be revived by the Illinois Senate President.
Platts reported that legislation concerning Tenaska’s coal gasification project may be revived by the Illinois Senate President.
As quoted in the market news:
Supporters of the 602-MW project, unveiled by Omaha, Nebraska-based Tenaska several years ago, decided to delay a final vote on the bill last spring when it became apparent they did not have enough votes to pass the controversial measure. The original Tenaska bill was approved by state’s the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives last November, only to lose a final vote in the Senate, where Democrats also hold a majority, in January.
