Lundin Petroleum AB (TSE:LUP) started the drilling of the Janglau prospect in Block PM308A, offshore the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Lundin Petroleum AB (TSX:LUP) started the drilling of the Janglau prospect in Block PM308A, offshore the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

The press release is quoted as saying:

The Janglau-1 exploration well will test the hydrocarbon potential of Eocene to Oligocene alluvial sands overlying a Pre-Tertiary high that also forms a second objective of the well. The Janglau prospect is located to the north-east of the PM308A block, 7 km to the east of the Rhu oil discovery made in 1991. The planned total depth is 3,950 meters subsea and the well will be drilled using the jack-up drilling rig Offshore Courageous. The well is expected to take approximately 45 days.
