During National Mining Week, the Federal Government recognized the economic contributions that mining makes to this country, particularly in Western Canada and highlighted their support.

During National Mining Week, the Federal Government recognized the economic contributions that mining makes to this country, particularly in Western Canada and highlighted their support.

As quoted in the press release:

In the past year, the Harper Government has invested over $2 million for projects in the mining sector across Western Canada. Projects have included support for the College of the Rockies to acquire haul-truck simulators to train entry-level workers in the coal mining sector, as well as improving the Saskatchewan Research Council’s mineral processing pilot plant’s capacity to handle rare earth minerals.
