Cybercrime is Getting Worse

Threat actors are growing progressively better at what they do. They're better organized, more sophisticated and capable of causing significantly greater damage. It's predicted that by 2025, cybercrime will cost the world $10.5 trillion annually.

Even now, 560,000 new pieces of malware are produced and one billion malicious programs are installed worldwide each day. The average cost of a ransomware attack, meanwhile, ballooned to over $4.5 million last year. That's enough to permanently cripple most small to mid-sized businesses and enterprises. Unfortunately, those organizations make for perfect targets — and roughly 60 percent go under within six months of being breached.

It should come as little surprise, then, that the global cybersecurity market is booming. Fortune Business Insights estimates that it will reach $376 billion by 2029 at a compound annual growth rate of roughly 13.4 percent. In spite of this, many organizations remain perpetually unprepared to defend against a cyberattack.

Even those that do feel unprepared, with 41 percent of executives expressing that their security initiatives have not kept pace with digital transformation. For these organizations, the problem is that the cybersecurity market is a complete nightmare to navigate.

To begin with, there are too many choices, made near-impossible to understand by unnecessary technical jargon. These solutions are not only challenging to implement and integrate, but also to operate, especially on a 24x7 basis. Most SMBs and SMEs simply lack the resources to even keep pace with the fast-moving security industry.
