Silver Range Resources (TSXV:SNG) has announced that it has staked and completed an initial examination of the Uist Property near the Black River Gold Project in Nunavut.
As quoted in the press release:

Iron-formation-hosted gold mineralization at Uist was discovered by Echo Bay Mines Ltd. in 1990 and the property was explored by Echo Bay and Gerle Gold Ltd. until 1994. Sulphide iron formation was mapped and sampled in intermittent outcrop over a 1.6 km strike length. At Wally’s Showing at the western end of the trend, historic sampling over a 225 m strike length returned grab sample results of up to 156.28 g/t Au.
Further east at Ed’s Showing, sulphide iron formation was traced over a strike length of 475 m and historic grab sampling returned best results of 46.66 g/t Au. Silver Range staked and explored the Uist Property in May and June 2016. Confirmatory sampling returned fire assay analyses to 64.3 g/t Au. Recent mapping and sample results are being compiled with historical data to design future work programs and define drill targets.
All work on the project is being managed by Aurora Geosciences Ltd. of Yellowknife, NWT under the supervision of Gary Vivian M.Sc., P.Geol. Samples were secured and shipped under chain of custody to ALS Minerals facilities in Yellowknife NWT for sample preparation and to North Vancouver for assays and geochemical analyses. Samples were analyzed by Ultra-Trace Aqua Regia ICP-MS (ALS code ME-MS41) and fire assayed for gold (30 g sample) (ALS code Au-AA25).
