US Mint Breaks American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin Sales Record

The US Mint announced Tuesday afternoon that in 2014 it achieved record sales of American Eagle silver bullion coins. Sales for the 2014 calendar year came in at 42,864,000, beating the previous record of 42,675,000 set in 2013.

The US Mint announced Tuesday afternoon that in 2014 it achieved record sales of American Eagle silver bullion coins. Sales for the 2014 calendar year came in at 42,864,000, beating the previous record of 42,675,000 set in 2013.

The mint said in a press release:

We will continue to sell the remaining inventory of 2014-dated coins, under allocation, until inventory is depleted. Based on current demand, we anticipate having enough coins to offer allocations through the week of December 15th.

Dick Peterson, the US Mint’s deputy director, commented:

Our American Eagle Gold and Silver Bullion Coins remain the coin of choice for investors around the world. We are proud of our role as a leader in the global bullion coin market.
