SAN DIEGO, July 28, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — AttackIQ, the creator of the industry’s first continuous security validation platform, announced its GameOn! Security Challenge. The challenge, which will offer $15,000 in cash prizes, encourages security professionals and enthusiasts to build the most realistic attack scenarios that will help organizations validate their defenses.

Even after deployment, many security controls – regardless of how they are implemented – have a high rate of failure and misconfiguration. FireDrill™, a purpose-built, software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, was created to put an end to the confusion and bring accountability to security controls. It was designed with one goal in mind to continuously measure the efficacy of your security defenses.

With the launch of AttackIQ’s Community, the company will bring together the brightest minds in the security industry to challenge existing security practices and bring a more collaborative methodology to validate security decision making. Security professionals that join the community will gain access to a repository of techniques and mitigation strategies that can be immediately applied to improve their own security posture. In addition, community members will have the opportunity to directly contribute back to the repository and discussion forums to help make organizations more secure.

As a benefit to contributing community members, AttackIQ is releasing a FireDrill Community Edition™, a free version of its Enterprise platform. The FireDrill Community Edition will allow for a limited set of test agents to automate and orchestrate security validation. Additionally, participants can access a curated repository of real-world attack and validation scenarios created by its Community. “Security assurance is no longer an option, there’s too much at risk,” said Stephan Chenette, president and CEO, AttackIQ. “We are committed to changing the security game with the introduction of our FireDrill platform and now our open community. Together we can make a direct contribution to making organizations more secure.”

Participants in the GameOn! Security Challenge will submit scenarios that are applicable, timely and relevant to help organizations validate their own defenses. The challenge begins Thursday, July 28, 2016 and runs through Thursday, November 3, 2016. Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place winners and the top university student submission.
