Virginia Business Leaders Oppose Uranium Mining

The Street reported that 652 business leaders from the state of Virginia opposed the ending of its 1982 moratorium on uranium mining. The state has 119 million pounds of uranium deposits located in Southside Virginia.

As quoted in the market news:

Respondents reported that although they have concerns about uranium mining, those concerns would decrease if they were to learn more about the processes and protections that are associated with the mining of uranium,” the report said.
