Region misses uranium deal

The North West Star reports uranium deal is being missed by the region.

The top story is quoted as saying:

The North West has two known uranium deposits that cannot be mined because the State Government will not grant a lease to produce uranium.A spokesperson for Laramide Resources, which owns the Westmoreland deposit 350 kilometres north west of Mount Isa, said uranium mining would bring enormous economic growth to the region.
