Mining Weekly reported that Niger wants to renegotiate its partnership terms on uranium mining with Areva, a deal which generates €100-million for the country. Niger president Mahamadou Issoufou said they are also looking to partner with other mining investors in their effort to boost their country’s economy.
As quoted in the market news:
This represents just 5% of our budget, it’s not acceptable. That’s why I have asked to re-equilibrate the terms of the deal between Areva and Niger,” he said.
Peninsula Energy (ASX:PEN) is set to be the ASX’s next uranium producer. Its flagship Lance Projects in Wyoming is headed towards production in 2015, with purchasing contracts secured for 2015 to 2024.Connect here and don't miss their next catalyst!Learn More
