SMART Global Holdings, the parent company of SMART Modular Technologies, has announced it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the US Securities and Exchange in relation to a proposed initial public offering of its common stock.
As quoted in the press release:

The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the proposed offering have not been determined. SMART has applied to list its common stock on the NASDAQ Global Market under the ticker symbol “SGH.”
Barclays and Deutsche Bank Securities are acting as lead book-running managers for the offering; Jefferies and Stifel are acting as book-running managers; and Needham & Company and Roth Capital Partners are acting as co-managers.
