US Silver Production Sees Increase in Q1 2014

Mineweb reported that according to the US Geological Survey, US silver production came to a total of 8,809,304 ounces in the first quarter of this year. That’s up from 8,391,334 ounces in the year-ago quarter.

As quoted in the market news:

Total production for the first quarter of this year was 274,000 kg (8,809,304 oz), up from 261,000 kg (8,391,334 oz) for the first quarter of 2013. The states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah combined produced 202,200 kg (6,500,881 oz) during the first-quarter 2014, while Nevada mines yielded 71,900 kg (2,311,638 oz).
