Continuing a trend begun on Tuesday, the silver price increased on Wednesday, according to iNVEZZ.com. Specifically, the white metal gained $0.06, or 0.33 percent, to reach $17.11 per ounce — that’s 3 percent above its 50-day simple moving average of $16.59.

Meanwhile, the US Mint reported that annual sales of American Eagle silver bullion coins have reached an all-time high. Sales have been spurred lately by the metal’s low price.
