Gippsland Limited (ASX:GIP,FRA:GIX) provides the following update for the program of trial mining in Egypt.
Gippsland Limited (ASX:GIP,FRA:GIX) provides the following update for the program of trial mining in Egypt.
The press release is quoted as saying,
As previously reported, the tin placers were first explored during the early 1970s by a joint Egyptian?Russian expedition. The Russians collected samples at 0.5m intervals from the walls of pits sunk through the placer deposits along a series of profiles. A heavy mineral concentrate was produced for each sample by panning and the quantity of cassiterite and wolframite present determined by visual identification and weighing. Sectional profiles were drawn showing the cassiterite grade for each 0.5m interval down the pit wall and the placer material was designated as either commercial material (“mineralised material”) or waste based on a 0.2kg/m3 cassiterite cut?off.
