Niger Workers Extend Strike at Sino-U

Mining Weekly reported that workers at a China National Nuclear Corp Uranium mine in Niger extended their strike, demanding better pay and bonuses. The plan of the 680-strong union was to hold a 3-day strike but due to stalled talks, the strike is now considered open-ended.

As quoted in the market news:

We’re starting an unlimited strike because our demands have not been satisfied. For the workers, labour laws and norms must be respected, that’s all,” said union spokesman Boubacar Mamane.
